  Lagos state governor Akinwunmi Ambode says residents of the state who live in the Lekki axis will no longer pay tolls at the second toll point on the Lekki- Epe Expressway. The governor made this remark at an interactive session with journalists at the Banquet Hall of the Lagos House, Ikeja yesterday. The governor, in the statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, said his concern was ensuring the completion of the road.

There was a report a few days ago that former Lagos governor Raji Fashola had fathered a child with Lagos State staff named Biodun Mrcgregor, who works for the Lagos state government. Reacting to the story,  Fashola's Spokesperson, Akeem Belo described it as ‘mere speculation’ "If you check the report by The Capital who has been on the case for a while very well, you will see that it was a mere speculation, no proof other than speculation. How do you determine the father of a child on mere speculation? What investigation was done? I won’t comment on mere speculation or dignify a mere speculation, it is not worth it’ he told Newsontheblog Pressed further to give a categorical ‘yes’ or 'no' answer, Belo said he won’t dignify speculation with an emphatic ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.

  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has reportedly arrested former Imo state governor, Ikedi Ohakim. He was arrested by EFCC officials at his Asokoro home Abuja this morning at about 10.05am, according to a report by  Premium Times . He was picked up after failing to honor an EFCC invitation yesterday June 17th. He is being interrogated over some properties traced to him.

A Batch C corp member popularly known as Hope was stabbed to death in his room in Aboh Mbise local government of Imo state last Saturday June 6th. 31 year old popular Bollywood actress Aarthi Agarwal died on Saturday June 6th just a month after she had liposuction surgery (that's where they suck fat from your stomach area). The actress is reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest due to respiratory complications following the surgery and died at a hospital in Atlantic City, New Jersey in the US.

Alima, recently named one of Nigeria’s ‎100 most influential women died on Saturday June 6th after a battle with cancer. Alima Atta studied French and Marketing and had a successful career in Public Relations and Marketing for over 20 years and worked at MMD Marketing Communications and Anderson Soames in the UK before establishing her own PR agency in 2002. She was an inspiring woman who worked hard to get to the top. May her soul rest in peace, amen.

  Kanayo Awurum, 29, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly selling his son for N450,000 in the Egbe, Ikotun area of the state.   He allegedly sold the two-year-old boy, identified as Samuel, to a middle-aged women. Kanayo, who worked as a painter, reportedly lied to his wife, Kelechi, that one of the women was his relative in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and the boy was going to live with her.
