Imo State Govt warns against illegal use of sirens and tinted windows in the state

The Imo State Government through the Chairman of the State Traffic Law Enforcement Unit, ISTMA, Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe, yesterday, read the riot act in Owerri where he warned unauthorized users of sirens, fake number plates and tinted windows on their vehicles illegally to desist from it or face the consequences. Hon. Nzekwe said:

“We have arrested some people driving vehicles with tinted glasses without permits. We have since discovered that people use siren and tinted vehicles to carry out dastardly acts. “Apart from being determined to arrest and prosecute illegal users of siren, tinted glass, fake vehicle papers and numbers, government is also very determined to enforce all traffic laws in the state,”
However, some people in the state are saying the Government is only interested in generating revenue and attacking innocent people.
But Hon. Nzekwe refuted that adding:
“Government’s primary interest is not the improvement of its internally generated revenue, but the safety of all road users.”.“So far, we have brought back that consciousness and discipline.
