Brazilian influencer Suellen Carey stunned many when she symbolically married herself in a bold act of self-love, a practice known as sologamy the event was shared with her 400,000 followers. At first, she described the marriage as empowering, but after one year she admitted the union had become emotionally draining.
By late 2024, Carey filed for divorce, explaining that despite attending 10 solo therapy sessions, she often felt lonely and exhausted by the pressure of living up to her own expectations. She later reflected that while the experience helped her with healing and self-discovery, it also taught her that change was necessary.
